Welp. This happened today.

<Literature class, kid deemed "smartest" in the class seated next to me. Coincidentally, he's Indian>
Teacher: I'm passing back your research essays now!
<She's passing them out of course, and the kid next to me gets his grade>
<Without looking at it, he passes it to me>
Him: Here, take it. Look at it, and give me a thumbs-up if it's an A.
<I look at his grade and mine. I got a 93 which he already knows, and he got an 88>
<Looking back up>
Me: Uhh....
<That awkward moment when you can see the disappointment in his eyes when he got bested by a white kid.>
